Assume the rotor to be squirrel cage or any other type of rotor.<br />I was able to reason this out, but couldn't actually write it on a paper since my explanation lacked the physics... (it was based on simple understanding of electromagnetic induction)<br /><br />I would be thankful if someone could give a good explanation for this.<br /><br />Reply<br />It's based on the direction of the rotating magnetic field, which is dependant on the phase rotation.
